Simpson Building began building our home in Speargrass Flat in June 2020 and with all the challenges (lockdowns etc) they still managed to complete our build in the time frames that we had hoped for.

The decision to have Tim and his team build our home was made early and having Tim work with Matt our architect at the planning and consent stage made for an effortless build. The pre-build communications and discussions where excellent which led to a easy and hassle free build.

We undertook considerable due diligence on Queenstown builders before engaging Simpson Building. The site conditions and architecture of our build would present many challenges. We needed absolute confidence in the builders capability.

Tim had come highly recommended by a friend in the building industry and we were pleased we took their advice. From our very first conversation on site I could see that Tim wanted to take on the challenge. Where other builders saw problems and the need for increased budgets, Tim delivered cost effective practical solutions. Throughout the 20 month build journey Tim was on site daily – hands on with both his team, sub trades and on the tools. We built at a time in Shotover Country that was manic, while neighbours and other friends had tales of building woes we enjoyed every bit of the process. From initial concept meetings, recommending a great draftsperson, pricing the project, first day on site right through to the very end. Tim was always accommodating with our little tweaks, approachable at any time, professional, always had suggestions, no issue was ever a problem and kept to his timelines. His employees and contractors were also excellent to deal with. The finish and workmanship is amazing, no shortcuts taken and you can feel and see the quality. The quality of the build is really top notch and we are very, very happy with our new home.
